Micheal Hurley

Micheal has worked for EmployAbility Service West Cork since 2007. He covered the SKibbereen/Schull area until his promotion to Coordinator of the service in October 2018. Micheal has an extensive reputation in the area, as he freely admits that he loves his local community, and is involved in many local organisations including Skibbereen Business Association, A Taste of West Cork Food Festival, Skibbereen Drama Society, Voluntary Literacy Tutor and the Annual Castletownshend to Skibbereen walk. Micheal is also a member of the Community and Voluntary Forum and, having completed his BA (Social Science) in 2007 and MA in 2010, he is a board member of West Cork Development Partnership.

Olga Mitchell

Olga Mitchell ( BSc, BEng ,MAAP) is a qualified Guidance Counsellor with an MA in Applied Psychology ( Guidance Counselling) from University College Cork. She is a member of the IGC (Irish Guidance Counsellors) and is a trained psychometrics tester. Olga works to a strengths-based, empowerment model, encouraging client self-efficacy and building confidence through supportive interactions.

Having begun her career working in laboratory and engineering roles, she is an advocate for lifelong learning. She is currently completing an IACP accredited Level 7 Diploma in Integrated Counselling and Psychotherapy (IICP).
She previously worked in Career Services in UCC where she delivered career modules to postgraduate students, assisted students with interview preparation, CV development, course exploration and career planning. She also works with Cork Simon Community’s Employment and Training group.

Darren Priest

Darren Priest is a qualified Career Coach (MSc from the University of East London) and has a Masters in Occupational Health Psychology (MSc from the University of Nottingham). These give insight into the effects of un(der)employment on the individual and provides tools that can help develop a solutions focused way forward for his clients.

Having worked abroad for twenty years, and gaining a Post Graduate Teaching Diploma on the way, he has trained public, multinational and government clients in soft skills and language use. In Cork he has taught at UCC and was part of the small team that delivered the JobFit programme. JobFit exceeded ambitious government targets set in helping those distant from the labour market to re-join the labour force.

Darren is a Brief Solutions Focused Practitioner and utilises his training at the world leading BRIEF Centre in London in support of his clients.

Erin Kelly Ashworth

Erin Kelly Ashworth has been an Employment Facilitator with EmployAbility Service West Cork since May 2009. Erin comes from a professional sales background and also has experience working in the government sector. She has a B.A. in Business Management with an emphasis in Human Resources and has completed a Diploma in Disability Studies from U.C.C.

Fiona Chappell

Fiona has worked with EmployAbility Service West Cork since 2006 and is now based at the Clonakilty office of Employability. She is a qualified life & business coach and facilitator, and has a particular interest in enabling people to bring out their full potential. Fiona has a background in retail management, personal development and wellbeing, and has been voluntary director of various community organisations for over 13 years.

Martin Mulchrone

Martin has worked out of the Bantry Office for EmployAbility Service West Cork for 15 years and lives in Crookhaven. Martin started his career in Unilever working in Operational Management in the UK with various companies for 10 years. He then spent 18 years working for Coca-Cola where he worked in Marketing, Logistics, National Accounts and Personnel being involved in various national and international projects including renegotiation of the working agreement with Transport and General Workers Union and a European Marketing plan for Cinemas.

Marc Counsell

Educated in Weston Super Mare, UK, Marc’s background in music and computing led him to West Cork 13 years ago. With EmployAbility’s development to regional offices, Marc’s expertise remains invaluable to the organisation in the area of communications, administrative development and IT.
